01 / Overview
Ground powder is never all one size. Lumps, husk bits and coarse particles ride along with the fine fraction and spoil the texture of puttu podi, chilli powder or churna. The Vibro Sifter separates them.
A motor fitted with eccentric weights shakes a round, spring-mounted screen deck. Powder spreads from the centre to the rim across the mesh, fines drop through and oversize leaves by a side spout. Decks of different mesh can be stacked, so one pass gives several grades. Screens lift off for cleaning between products.
Ayurvedic and pharma-style units favour it because the rings and screens come apart quickly. Rice powder units and spice processors place it after the pulveriser or roaster and ahead of blending or packing. A sifter keeps grain size even and keeps foreign particles out of the pack.
02 / Construction & use
Features
- Round stainless screen deck with a lid, mounted on springs above the vibrating motor.
- Stacked decks of different mesh grade powder into several fractions in a single pass.
- Oversize material leaves through a side spout, so it can be re-milled or discarded.
- Screens and rings separate for quick cleaning when the product changes.
- Castors under the base let the sifter be moved to where it is needed.
Used to make
- Puttu, appam and idiyappam flours graded after milling
- Ayurvedic churna sifted before filling
- Chilli, coriander and turmeric powders
- Maida, rava and sugar grading
- Lumps and fibres removed from roasted rice powder
03 / Choosing
- Sifter
The Sifter is a flat-screen machine that moves back and forth, while this Vibro Sifter is round and vibratory. Choose the Vibro Sifter for fine powders, several grades at once and easy cleaning; choose the Sifter for plain bulk sieving.
04 / Questions
Can the Vibro Sifter separate more than one grade at once?
Yes. When decks of different mesh are stacked, each deck passes one fraction and the top deck holds back the coarsest. The number of decks depends on how many grades you want out of a single pass.
Is the Vibro Sifter easy to clean between ayurvedic batches?
Yes. The machine is built of rings and screens that come apart, so leftover powder from one herb does not carry into the next churna lot. That matters when ayurvedic lots change often through the week.
Which mesh does the Vibro Sifter use for puttu podi and appam flour?
Puttu podi is usually left coarser than appam or idiyappam flour, so the two need different screens. We fit the mesh to the product, so tell us your recipe and the grain size you want.
