01 / Overview
After roasting, rice powder carries lumps, burnt specks and the odd bit of foreign matter. A sifter between the roaster and the packing table takes them out, so the pack holds only powder of one cut.
A flat rectangular screen tray sits under a hopper, driven by a belt and a heavy flywheel that move the screen back and forth. Fines fall through into the tray below and oversize runs off the end. The screen can be changed to suit the powder.
Rice powder units, flour mills and spice processors use it for single-cut sieving. It comes after the roaster and pulveriser and ahead of packing. Available in models from SR 200 to SR 1500, so a small mill and a large one can each find a size that fits.

- Vibro Sifter
The Vibro Sifter is round, vibrates and can stack decks to grade several fractions with quick-clean screens. This Sifter is the simpler flat-screen machine for bulk sieving of one cut.

Why is the back-and-forth action used for sifting rice powder?
A flat screen moved to and fro lets lumps and oversize travel along the mesh and off the end while the fines drop through. It is simple, takes bulk powder steadily and has little to wear, which suits roasted rice powder in daily runs.
Can the Sifter mesh be changed for rice powder?
Yes. The screens are replaceable, so one frame can serve coarse puttu podi and finer flours. Tell us the cut you want and we will fit the mesh, and a spare screen can be kept for the second product.
When should a mill pick the Sifter and not the Vibro Sifter?
Pick the Sifter for simple, high-volume sieving of one cut, such as roasted rice powder. Pick the Vibro Sifter when you need several grades from one pass, or very quick cleaning between ayurvedic lots of different herbs.
