01 / Overview
Large spice and flour plants cannot afford an operator loading a grinder sack by sack. The Hammer Mill With Elevator takes the whole job: raw material is lifted into the mill, ground, and carried away as powder.
A feed hopper with an inclined screw conveyor lifts the material into the mill. Swinging hammers on a fast rotor break it by impact, and the particles leave through a screen whose holes set the fineness. A duct then takes the powder to a tall cyclone on a stand, where it is collected, and the air flow helps keep the mill cool.
Spice plants grind chilli, coriander and turmeric on it. Rice and flour units grind rice, wheat and maize, and central kitchens use it for bulk dry masala. It comes after dryers or roasters, and the powder goes on to a sifter and blender. It is rated at 2,500KG/hr, a rate that varies with the material and the screen.
02 / Construction & use
Features
- Feed hopper with an inclined screw conveyor lifts raw material into the mill without hand loading.
- Swinging hammers on a fast rotor shatter material by impact against the chamber.
- Screen hole size at the mill outlet sets the fineness of the ground product.
- Duct and cyclone on a stand carry the powder out and collect it.
- Air flow through the system helps keep the mill and the powder cool during long runs.
- Continuous feed and collection suit the rated output of 2,500KG/hr.
Used to make
- Chilli, coriander and turmeric ground in bulk
- Pepper and other dried whole spices
- Rice, wheat and maize flours
- Pulses milled for flour
- Dried herbs for ayurvedic churna
- Coffee and sugar grinding
03 / Choosing
- Pulveriser
The Pulveriser is a compact standalone grinder for smaller units and job-work mills. This system adds an elevator feed and cyclone collection for production volume. Choose the Pulveriser for small, hand-fed runs, this mill for continuous bulk grinding.
04 / Questions
What does the elevator on the Hammer Mill do?
It lifts raw material from the hopper up into the mill automatically, so nobody has to feed the grinder by hand. That keeps the mill loaded for steady output and saves labour on long grinding shifts.
Is 2,500KG/hr the Hammer Mill's output for every material?
No. Grinding output depends on the material, its moisture and the screen size. A dry, brittle spice ground through a coarse screen runs faster than an oily or damp one, so ask for a figure for your product.
How do I control the fineness of the Hammer Mill's powder?
Through the screen. Smaller holes give finer powder and slower output, larger holes the reverse. Tell us the powder you need, whether chilli, rice or masala, and we will recommend a suitable screen for it.
