01 / Overview

A masala is only as good as its mix. After spices are ground and sifted, each lot is combined with others in fixed proportions, and any pocket of salt, chilli or filler left unmixed shows up in the pack. The Blender is the batch mixer for that step.

A shaft carrying helical ribbons turns inside a horizontal trough. Inner and outer ribbons are wound in opposite directions, pushing powder toward the ends and back to the centre so the charge folds through itself. The mixed batch leaves through a bottom outlet. A screw elevator can feed the blender, which saves lifting sacks by hand.

Spice and masala units use it for curry powders and blends, rice powder units for salted or flavoured mixes, and ayurvedic makers for multi-herb churna. It sits after grinding and sifting and ahead of packing. Sizes run from 25KG to 1500KG.

02 / Construction & use

Features

  • Inner and outer helical ribbons run in opposite directions and move material both ways along the trough.
  • Bottom discharge empties the finished batch straight into a tub or onto a packing line.
  • Can be paired with a screw elevator, so the charge is loaded without hand lifting.
  • Batch type: each charge is mixed and emptied before the next product goes in, which keeps recipes apart.

03 / Questions

Can the Blender mix oil or liquid into masala?

Dry powders are its main work. Our blenders also serve wet products such as pickle, but those use other models, among them a pickle blender and a mass mixer. For oil mixed into masala, tell us the quantity and we can fit a spray line.

How is masala loaded into the Blender?

By hand into the trough, or by screw elevator, which suits the larger sizes where carrying sacks up to the trough would slow the shift. We build the pair together, so the elevator is sized to the blender and fits your layout.

What batch sizes does the ribbon Blender come in?

Sizes run from 25KG to 1500KG. We build standard and custom blenders in various sizes and shapes to suit the raw material and the quantity per batch, so a small ayurvedic lot and a full masala charge each get a trough that suits them.
