01 / Overview
Pineapples, raw mangoes, amla and ginger are too hard and bulky to feed straight into a press or a pulper. The Fruit Mill breaks them down first, into a mash that the next machine in the line can handle without choking.
Produce goes into a stainless hopper above an upright mill body. A fast rotor with beaters or blades throws the fruit against stationary blades or a screen and reduces it. The mash comes out through a front discharge. The mill does not separate anything: seed, skin and fibre stay in the mash.
Juice units, pickle makers, ayurvedic manufacturers and catering kitchens use it as the first step in a line. Mash for juice goes on to the Double Screw Juice Expeller. Mash for pickles and chutneys goes to the mixing vessel. Capacity depends on the material.
02 / Construction & use
Features
- Stainless hopper on top feeds an upright mill body, so produce drops in by gravity.
- Fast rotor with beaters or blades reduces fruit against stationary blades or a screen.
- Front discharge delivers the mash into a tub or onto the next machine.
- Takes hard, bulky produce such as ginger, amla and raw mango.
- No separation of seed or skin: the mill only breaks material down.
Used to make
- Pineapple and apple crushed ahead of juice pressing
- Amla and ginger mash for ayurvedic juice
- Raw mango and garlic mash for pickles
- Tomato crushed for chutney and sauce bases
- Grape and other fruit mash before extraction
03 / Choosing
- Double Screw Juice Expeller
The mill makes mash and extracts nothing. The Double Screw Juice Expeller presses juice out of that mash, so the two usually run in sequence rather than as alternatives.
- Fruit Pulper
The Fruit Pulper strains seeds and skin out of soft fruit and leaves clean pulp. The mill keeps everything in the mash. Pick the pulper for mango or jackfruit pulp and the mill for hard produce.
04 / Questions
Does the Fruit Mill extract juice?
No, it crushes fruit to a mash. To press juice from that mash, pass it to the Double Screw Juice Expeller. Some juice will run out of the mash in the tub, but the mill is not a juice extractor.
Can the Fruit Mill crush hard produce like ginger and amla?
Yes. Mills of this type are widely used for hard produce, and ayurvedic units crush amla and ginger in them before extracting juice. Feed hard items such as dry ginger more slowly than soft tomato so the rotor does not choke.
Which fruits and vegetables suit the Fruit Mill?
Most fruit and vegetables that need breaking down, including pineapple, apple, tomato and raw mango. Capacity depends on the material, so tell us your main raw material when you ask about the size you need.
